"Farewell Dallas Texas"

“I am saying goodbye to 6-day work weeks, hotel living and charter buses... Hello freedom!.”

I initially planned to stay in Dallas on my current nursing contract for another 4 weeks. Unfortunately my husband had a death in the family. I am headed home! I am excited to see my little humans and my husband. Excited to get back in the groove of our everyday life. I am also nervous and already exhausted at the adjustments we will all need to make. I have been away for three months. I’ve been on contract here at a level 1 trauma hospital. It has been an experience! The biggest difference has been the population of homeless people and patients needing mental health services. This is also the first level 1 trauma hospital I have ever worked at. If I never see another gun shot victim or a traumatic motor vehicle accident it will be too soon...

The best thing to me about being an ER nurse is you get to see everything. However this little bleeding heart of mine struggles with the homeless population. I just want to fix all of their problems. I want to help. I want to know their story. The homeless population in Dallas is fairly young. I’ve come across homeless people my age. That’s what stands out most to me about this contract. The amount of homeless people who just came to the hospital for food or a place to sleep...

I am off work for the rest of March! I am only scheduled to work 6 shifts for the whole month of April. For now I am saying goodbye to 6 day work weeks, hotel living and charter buses...

Hello freedom!.....Until Next Time

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Monique is a down to earth adrenaline junkie who enjoys motherhood, adventure, writing and traveling. She is one of those women who want it all....a mom of 3 little humans, a spouse to a retired service man, an entrepreneur and ER travel nurse. She created this blog for people who are not defined by their titles, those that don’t always get it right and want to know that someone somewhere is going through the same thing as them.
